10. Add a Keyword to a Page Title
This Week's Practice: Add a Keyword to a Page Title
Welcome to this week’s edition of The 15-Minute Practice — a short, powerful tip to help you grow your private practice with clarity, one simple step at a time.
Your 15-Minute Action This Week
Update the title tag of one service page to include a clear, client-friendly keyword.
What You'll Get
In 15 minutes, you’ll make it easier for Google—and future clients—to understand what your page is about.
1. Choose one service page (like individual therapy, EMDR, or couples counseling).
2. Identify a simple keyword that describes the service in client language (e.g., “trauma therapy” or “anxiety counseling in Chicago”). You can use the free Google Keywords Planner to find keywords.
3. Edit the page’s title tag to include the keyword, ideally near the beginning. Aim for between 50-60 characters.
Bonus: Add your location (city or state) to the title if you serve a local area.
This Step's Purpose
Your title tag is one of the most important places to use your keywords. It’s what shows up in Google search results—and it tells both search engines and people what your page is about. This one update can improve your visibility without touching the rest of your content.
Try It Today
Open one service page. Look at the browser tab or search result preview. Is the title clear, keyword-rich, and client-friendly?
And if you have a question or insight, just hit reply. I’d love to hear what you find.
See you next week,
