SEO isn’t instant. But that’s one of the reasons it actually works.
Search engine optimization is a long game. It’s about consistency, clarity, and connection - not hacks. And if you’re a therapist in private practice, summer might be the perfect time to start.
SEO typically takes 3–6 months to start showing results. So if you begin now, you’re planting seeds for your fall and winter caseload. You don’t need to become a blogger - just a few minutes a day can move the needle.
The new blog post breaks it all down - including how we’re supporting you with:
A complete 90-day SEO plan (in the course + workbook)
A full walkthrough of that plan starting August 4th (Module 6)
15-minute tasks, 5 days a week
A one-time Facebook group discount (through July 31st)
A 7-day refund window, no questions asked
Start now. See results later. Read the post + get all the details at the link in bio.

Not sure what SEO really is - or how you’re supposed to use it in your private practice? You’re not alone.
I'm a therapist too, and that’s why I built a custom GPT to help.
It’s trained on the full course - all the videos, workbook prompts, and concepts - and it’s here to support you without the pressure to sound like a “brand.”
You can ask it things like:
“What’s a meta description again?”
“Where do I start with blog content?”
“How do I know what’s working in GA4?”
But even more important than what it does is why it exists: to reduce the overwhelm, and make learning SEO feel actually doable.
Because visibility isn’t about "more traffic" at its core - it’s about being findable by the people who already need your work.
I wrote a full post about the mindset behind this, how the tool works, and why I believe this mission is bigger than just SEO.

Want to show up when someone types “therapist near me” into Google?
You don’t need ads. You do need clarity. Here are 5 therapist-friendly ways to boost your local SEO - without changing who you are:
Claim your Google Business Profile
Make it accurate, client-facing, and aligned with your work - even if you’re fully remote.
Get your info consistent across platforms
Match your name, phone, and location across sites like Google, Psychology Today, and Facebook.
Use location keywords naturally
Think “anxiety therapy in Portland” not just “therapy.” Weave it into page titles and headers.
Ask for reviews + local backlinks
Google sees these as signs of credibility. Local directories and wellness partnerships help too.
Write content with a local lens
Even if you’re online-only, highlight the specific communities or states you serve.
These steps are all covered in the SEO Bootcamp launching June 23. If local SEO has been a sticking point, the bootcamp covers this and more - everything you need for a solid understanding of SEO in the world of private practice as a therapist.

Feeling stuck on content?
New research from Ahrefs shows that marketers using AI tools publish 42% more content - and most of it is still human-edited. It’s not about shortcuts. It’s about support.
Inside the SEO Bootcamp, we use the W.R.I.T.E. method to help therapists:
- Start with real client language
- Build a rough outline based on your consult call flow
- Understand what searchers really want
- Use AI to generate structure and support
- Edit for voice, and hit publish without perfectionism
And yes, the bootcamp comes with a custom GPT built just for therapists. It supports everything you’re learning - from content drafts to analytics.
We go live in 11 days - on June 23.

Therapists—if SEO feels like a lot, here’s a clear place to start:
- Understand what your clients are really searching for
- Use their words, not jargon
- Write pages that are helpful and easy to scan
- Link between your own content
- And above all… you have to write
If you don’t have content, search engines and AI have no reason to send people your way. But that doesn’t
mean turning into a content machine. It means showing up clearly, in your voice, with answers to the
questions your clients are already asking.

If you’ve seen ads like “Get your therapy site indexed in ChatGPT,” you’re not alone.
AI and SEO are changing — but the fundamentals haven’t. Helpful, human content still wins. And therapists who focus on clarity, authority, and real questions? You’re already ahead.

"Just because you're good at therapy doesn't mean people can find you online."
This hit me hard when I started my practice in 2017.
After 20+ years in tech, I knew SEO could help therapists → but most advice felt wrong for our field.
That's why I created Therapist Marketing Lab. Strategic SEO for people who actually care about their clients.
